THE IDEA
Remade in Italy.
Remade in Italy.
Stefano Venier’s idea was to take the most iconic Italian motorcycles and transform them into bespoke machines for an international audience.
My idea was to create a simple monogram that represented the founder and celebrated the roots of motorcycle customization.
In the cafe racer language, the X tape on the headlight was a sign of recognition and respect. It originated from a practical need: during races, it was applied so that, in the event of a crash, no glass would be left on the track.
This X, together with the initial of Venier, forms the basis of a simple, versatile monogram which retains, in its rationalist style, subtle cues of timeless Italian design.
Venier’s custom motorcycles quickly went viral, from New York to the internet, and eventually led to collaborations with Moto Guzzi itself, and even with Tom Dixon.
